Apple has officially confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developer Conference, WWDC 2026, will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. As in recent years, the event will primarily be hosted online, with a limited in-person gathering scheduled for June 8 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
The annual developer conference, which traditionally serves as Apple’s main stage for software announcements, will open with a keynote on June 8. As in previous years, the event is expected to introduce the next generation of operating systems across Apple’s ecosystem, including updates to iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS.
This year, however, the spotlight is likely to shift more heavily toward artificial intelligence. Apple has indicated that WWDC 2026 will highlight AI-driven features alongside new tools and frameworks for developers. The shift comes after a comparatively muted AI presence at last year’s event, where the focus leaned more toward interface design.
Industry expectations suggest Apple could use the conference to unveil a more advanced version of Siri, with improved contextual awareness and deeper on-device intelligence. The company has also been expanding its AI ecosystem through partnerships and developer tooling, including integrations with external models and enhancements to its own Foundation Model framework, which enables offline AI capabilities.
Developers attending WWDC—virtually or in person—will have access to more than 100 technical sessions, as well as group labs and one-on-one consultations with Apple engineers and designers. The conference will stream through the Apple Developer app, Apple’s website, and YouTube.
While WWDC has occasionally featured hardware announcements in the past, recent editions have focused primarily on software and services. This year’s event follows a series of product launches earlier in 2026, including new iPhone, iPad, and Mac updates, reinforcing expectations that WWDC will remain software-centric.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, described the conference as a key moment for the company’s global developer community, highlighting its role in fostering collaboration and innovation.
